Dr Clifford Denton is the co-author with Paul Slennet of the book "Earthquake in the City". In this book they talk about the prophecy from God about the collapse of the economic climate in this country. Dr Denton is a well known prophetic figure and will help us to understand our responsibility before God for the nation as well as give us directives on how to cope in the accelerating economic collapse.

This e-mail contains a prophecy that was received in February 1989. Since then, it has been circulated as widely as possible. This was facilitated in part through the publishing of a book entitled Earthquake in the City, which was first published by Kingsway, and has gone through three print-runs.
Despite all this, many Christians have not had the opportunity to consider the prophecy and many Church leaders are not aware of it. The prophecy concerns a judgement to fall on Great Britain, beginning:
“My children, the alarm bells are sounding all over Europe, for judgement is being spoken out over the nations. Over your nation, Great Britain, a mighty earthquake is about to occur, an earthquake that will swallow up the whole City. Whole companies and city institutions will collapse in this earthquake, some never to rise again.”
As with all prophecy, this is to be tested and interpreted. In order to circulate the prophecy more widely we are making use of this simple e-mail campaign. We would be grateful if you will read the prophecy and pass it on to others whom you know, either by forwarding this e-mail to people on your own e-mail address list or printing out a copy to give to others, especially Church leaders.
The current European financial crisis can clearly be interpreted as alarm bells sounding all over Europe. The prophecy tells us that, in Britain, a mighty earthquake will occur which will severely impact the City. It is, therefore, a key time to point out the urgency of considering the true reason for the trouble that now surrounds us all. If we do not get to the heart of our problem, the problem will deepen. Indeed, the way out of our difficulties will not be straightforward even if we respond immediately to what Almighty God is saying to us. We are a nation that must be rebuilt carefully on biblical foundations.
We are hearing much from the nation’s leaders about measures to be taken to solve our economic problems. Also, because of growing unrest that led to rioting in our cities, we are also hearing about moral decline in our nation and about the need to restore the family at the heart of the nation. Serious measures are being proposed by dedicated leaders of our nation. Yet, in all of this, the deeper heart issue is not being addressed, namely the departure of this nation from Almighty God.
For a generation or more we have not whole-heartedly kept the Oath made by Her Majesty the Queen at her Coronation in 1953. We have departed from God, and now He has declared that He will allow the Nation to fall into the developing crisis. The intent is that this shock will turn us back to Him. We must understand this crucial point.
The true reason for our present crisis must be put into clear focus so that the way of recovery will be properly addressed. When our nation enters into difficult times our first question must be, “Is there a Word from God?” We submit to you that Almighty God has indeed sent us a Word, and implore you to act upon it with due urgency, Please read and test prayerfully the words of the prophecy. It is a call to prayer and repentance, beginning in the Church.
Who knows what Almighty God will do, even now, to turn back the worst of this crisis and help us to rebuild a nation that He can bless and protect once more?

My children, the alarm bells are sounding all over Europe, for judgment is being spoken out over the nations. Over your nation, Great Britain, a mighty earthquake is about to occur, an earthquake that will swallow up the whole City. Whole companies and city institutions will collapse in this earthquake, some never to rise again.
My judgment that has been withheld for so long must now be unleashed on your nation in order that my church repent and lead this nation in repentance, for I am a righteous and holy God, just in all my ways, a God who longs to show mercy, but one who will no longer tolerate the unrighteousness of my dear church. It is out of love that I visit this nation with judgment - you must know that this must always be the case. My children, repent now before it is too late, for already the day of my return draws near and you must not be found wanting, like the virgins who did not fill their lamps with oil; but awake, my children, and be my watchmen, and speak with a prophetic voice of the judgment that is about to come upon the nations.
If you repent and turn from your wicked ways, I will visit your nation, Great Britain, once again, not with judgment, but with revival power, and I will protect you from all the strategy of the enemy.
In regard to Europe, come out of her, my dear children, for she will align herself with the Beast and the False Prophet who will arise and appear for just a short while. My children, take heart, for I am with you always. Do not give up, but pray without ceasing and see the salvation of your God.
